A man is accused of killing his brother after remains were found in Georgia, police said.
Last week, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced the arrest of Charles Edward Cates Jr., 55. He faces a murder charge.
Police found the remains near the Mill Creek community in Lipkin County, Georgia, according to the bureau. The remains are believed to be related to the disappearance of Tony Lamar Cates, 52.
The suspect and victim were brothers.
The remains will be identified by a medical expert, officials said. Tony Cates was reported missing in May 2021.
After Tony Cates was reported missing on May 10, police found his abandoned truck at a church. A co-worker said Tony Cates was in good shape on the 10th, according to WSB-TV.
Investigators have not said how Cates died or why they believe his brother killed him.
