A Missouri man is accused of shooting his own sister in the head, police said.
This week, police arrested Trae Spratt, 29, in connection to the case.
Around 3:30 on Sept. 24, police in St. Charles, Missouri, responded to an apartment where 37-year-old Tracy Bradford was shot dead, and a 32-year-old woman was hurt. Police found Bradford shot in the head.
The other victim had been shot in the face but locked herself in a bedroom with two other children. The woman was expected to survive her wounds, police said.
Investigators identified the suspect as Spratt. The unnamed victim was his girlfriend. The two were in the process of separating, however.
As Spratt moved items from the apartment, he saw his girlfriend and Bradford, his sister, talking about him. Spratt then took out a handgun and shot both women, police said.
Officials charged Spratt with first-degree murder and a shot of other counts. He is being held in jail on $2 million bond.
