Monster Mom Casey Anthony: The Little Girl Who Vanished — Whose Party-Animal Mom Never Even Called Cops (FPD CASE VAULT)
June 30 2023, Published 9:55 a.m. ET
Monster mom Casey Anthony remains the most hated woman in America by millions who are convinced the brunette vixen got away with murdering her adorable 2-year-old daughter Caylee.
Even after she was found not guilty, Anthony was forced into hiding for fear angry Americans would carry out their own vigilante justice.
In a sensational case that gripped America, Casey's angelic daughter vanished on June 16, 2008.
But the callous mom never even called the cops. Instead, she partied up a storm until her mom Cindy finally reported that Caylee had been missing for a month. The distraught grandma added that the car her daughter had borrowed smelled as though "a dead body" was in it.
As the search for Caylee continued, Casey weaved a web of lies, including an outrageous claim that the tyke had been kidnapped by a babysitter.
Then, on Dec. 11, 2008, Caylee's skeletal remains were found in a wooded area near the Orlando, Fla., home of Casey's parents. Shockingly, her mouth had been duct-taped shut.
SHAMEFUL CHARGES
Casey was charged with first-degree murder and stood trial for six weeks from May to July 2011. Her attorney, Jose Baez, claimed that Caylee accidentally drowned in the backyard pool on June 16 and Casey's dad George helped cover up the death.
George vehemently denied Baez's shameful charges but, incredibly, jurors found Casey not guilty of first-degree murder, aggravated manslaughter of a child and aggravated child abuse - after deliberating for just over 10 hours.

In the end, Casey was convicted of only four misdemeanor charges. All involved lying to cops, and two of those convictions were later overturned on appeal.
Following the verdict, Casey was released from jail. But she's been living in a virtual prison ever since. Bombarded by death threats, she's remained in hiding, afraid to show her face in public.
