A 24-year-old Montana man is accused of raping a 16-year-old girl after telling her that he would start drinking and kill himself if she didn’t take her clothes off, according to police.
The teen stated Devin Blanchard reportedly touched her inappropriately and then raped her, according to authorities.
The alleged victim also said Blanchard asked her to send him nude photos of herself, but she could not remember if she did or not, according to reports.
Police said after reviewing her phone, it showed that she did have images of herself in her underwear, but the text messages between her and Blanchard were deleted.
KRTV reported that Blanchard admitted in court documents to touching the girl. He also said she sent him sexually explicit photos and videos of herself and he did not tell her to stop nor report it to police, according to KRTV.
Investigators questioned Blanchard and he denied raping the teen or having any other sexual contact with her, according to police. He claimed the teen had enticed him several times.
Blanchard told authorities the teen blackmailed him for weeks and had made this all up “to get back at me for blocking her phone number and not being in a relationship with her.”
Blanchard is friends with the teen’s mother and mother’s boyfriend. The incident happened after they were left alone, police said.
The alleged victim told a School Resource Officer on March 16 Blanchard raped her, according to police.
In a previous investigation involving child pornography, court documents state Blanchard admitted he was suicidal and attracted to young teenage girls.
Blanchard was charged with sexual intercourse without consent and sexual abuse of children, both felony charges.
