A 4-year-old Florida boy died after he was severely abused, and his mother has been charged in connection with his horrific murder, authorities said.
On May 2, officials from Orlando Health hospital contacted the sheriff’s office about the child, later identified as Bryan Boyer, who had died under suspicious circumstances, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
Officials said the boy was flown to the hospital after suffering an abdominal bleed. However, an autopsy was completed and determined his liver had a deep laceration on it that was caused by a targeted blunt force trauma injury.
According to authorities, Boyer also had fresh scars and bruises on his arms and legs consistent with abuse.
According to the sheriff’s office, when Boyer got off the bus on May 1, his 16-year-old brother noted he looked happy. But as the day went on, investigators learned, the teenager noticed the little boy was lethargic.
The teen shared his concern with their mother, 36-year-old Patricia Saintizaire, but she said the victim was “faking it” and to feed him, authorities said.
When the boy became unresponsive, the older brother started performing CPR on him and told Saintizaire they needed to take him to the hospital.
The teenager told police that Saintizaire instructed that “when they ask you something, say nothing so I don’t get in trouble,” and threatened to kill him with a gun, police claimed.

Saintizaire, who investigators said adopted the boy from Haiti in 2023, repeatedly denied that she ever used physical discipline as punishment.
However, officials said Boyer suffered ‘horrible’ abuse at the hands of Saintizaire and detectives reportedly recovered videos from her home’s surveillance cameras.

One video allegedly showed the mother hitting the child with an unknown object while the child was laying on the floor, unresponsive; the other video allegedly showed her throwing the child into a pool while both of his hands were tied behind his back, police said.
Saintizaire was arrested and charged with first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse, and tampering with a witness, officials said.
