A mother and son were killed in a deadly home shooting in California and now police say the suspect is on the run.
Around 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 4, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said deputies responded to a report of a shooting in the city of Imperial, California.
At the scene, officers said they found a woman and a man shot inside the residence.
While the woman was pronounced dead at the scene, the man was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, authorities said. However, he would be pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the facility.

Police said the suspect fled the scene before deputies arrived.
An autopsy was conducted and the two victims were identified as 55-year-old Raquel Pitsenberger and her son, 35-year-old Marco Antonio Valadez Jr. The cause of death for both victims was multiple gunshot wounds and the manner of death is homicide for both, officials said.
While the investigation is still ongoing, detectives said the victims knew the suspect and there was no larger threat to the community.
Family members have set up a GoFundMe page for Raquel and Marco, which said the duo “were inseparable in this life” and their family wants “to keep them together forever.” The page added, “They were truly loved by everyone and we are heartbroken.”
