Police in Louisiana say a woman has been arrested after she allegedly “tossed” her 6-month-old baby into the trash during a fight at a local Walmart.
Around 3:30 p.m. on June 22, officers responded to the Walmart in Eunice regarding a fight in progress, according to police reports obtained by KLFY-TV.
When police arrived at the scene, the argument was over, but they detained those allegedly involved in the dispute, officials said.
Officers were able to obtain video footage from the store, which allegedly showed the fight occurred near the front door of the store.
In the video, police said they reportedly saw the suspect, 38-year-old Brionka Benjamin, holding her infant in her arms.
However, a verbal altercation broke out, which is when she “tossed the infant in a trash can and struck another individual,” police said.
