Man Accused Of Killing Woman, Dumping Body in Lake In Florida Arrested
A who is accused of killing a woman and throwing her body in a lake in Jacksonville, Florida was arrested.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of Jaquan Rashan Wesley, 26, on July 29 in connection to the woman's death.
According to police, at around 7 a.m. on July 12, officers responded to the 800 block of Sorrento Road in reference to a body being found in Marco Lake, which feeds from the St. Johns River.
The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department deployed dive teams to retrieve the body of a 23-year-old woman from the water. She was pronounced dead on scene, according to police.
Homicide detectives determined early on that foul play was suspected, and they quickly labeled it a murder investigation. Police found a lot of evidence, including the woman's abandoned vehicle.
Police identified Wesley as a prime suspect and obtained an arrest warrant. According to police, Wesley was taken into custody without incident.
