Teen shot dead in Houston and found by a person picking up trash, two suspects arrested
Two men have been arrested in connection to the shooting death of a Houston teen, who was found dead by a person picking up trash.
The shooting happened on Jan. 17, according to Houston police. The victim — Avanti King, 19 — was found dead on West Hamilton Street by a person picking up the trash.
Houston police responded to the area and found King with a gunshot wound. Police investigated and in February arrested Earnest Austin, 33, in connection to the case. He was arrested after trying to flee from police, authorities noted.
When he was arrested, Austin was wanted on other charges. After his apprehension, Austin was charged with murder, according to Houston police.

On March 19, police arrested Thomas Alvarez, 35, and charged him with murder in connection to the case.
Investigators have not said what led to the shooting of if the suspects knew the teen.
