After performing a welfare check in Mississippi, police say they found a woman’s body. Now, a man has been arrested in connection to her murder.
On Feb. 5, police said they responded to an apartment in Biloxi, Mississippi, to check on the welfare of a woman.
Once at the apartment, officers said they saw clear signs of a struggle and a woman’s body was found inside the apartment, WLOX reported.
An investigation began and detectives determined 37-year-old Pitipong Daengbunga was considered a suspect and he was taken into custody, officials said.
Investigators have not said how they identified him as a suspect or released a possible motive in the case.
According to the coroner’s office, the victim was identified as 42-year-old Jamie Boggs. She died from multiple stab wounds, officials said.
Daengbunga was arrested and booked into the Harrison County Jail on a $1 million bond. He was charged with first-degree murder, police said.
