A New Jersey Man Paid a Contract Killer to Murder His Ex-Wife. But He Wanted Her Daughter Dead First So She'd Suffer.
A man in New Jersey was sentenced to eight years in a federal prison after he attempted to hire a hit man to murder his ex-wife and the woman’s daughter.
Late last year, Michael Stewart, 69, pleaded guilty to one count of use of interstate commerce facilities in the commission of a murder for hire and he was sentenced on May 2 in Newark federal court, My Central Jersey reported.
Court documents obtained by the outlet show Stewart told a confidential source in summer 2021 that he wanted to find someone who could murder both his ex and her daughter.
Months later, in October 2021, he arranged a meeting with the source and then met up with who he thought was a person willing to carry out the crime but was actually an undercover law enforcement officer, according to the documents.
Stewart told the purported hit man that he would pay to have the daughter “done first” and didn’t “give a f***” how the crimes were carried out, the documents state.

In the legal papers, authorities claim Stewart told the undercover agent he wanted the daughter to be the first killed because “she started the whole thing” and the slaying would make his ex-wife suffer.
Six months after the daughter’s death, the documents state, Stewart then wanted her mother murdered.
Stewart, court papers allege, showed the agent a photo of his ex-wife and made a partial payment of $500.
Stewart is not eligible for parole and must serves three years of supervised release when his sentence is completed, officials said.
