Illinois Man Who Police Say Killed His Father At A Rest Stop Arrested: Police

An Illinois man who police say fatally shot his father was arrested in Tennessee.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation announced the arrest of Micah E. McElmurry, 30, of Decatur, Illinois, on May 28 in connection to the death of Michael Monroe Woods, 55, of Columbia, Missouri.
TBI special agents, Marion County, Tennessee deputies and Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers worked together to arrest McElmurry, who allegedly fatally shot his father inside a rest area off the interstate.
Woods was found dead in the bathroom of the Interstate 24 rest area near mile marker 160, according to police. An investigation led to police identifying McElmurry as a suspect.
Police took McElmurry into custody on the evening of May 27. He is charged with one count of criminal homicide and was booked into the Marion County Jail, where he is being held without bond.
