Teen Murder Suspect In Florida Accused Of Attempting To Solicit Inmates To Kill Star Witness, Sheriff Says
A Florida teenager awaiting trial for murder now is accused of seeking someone behind bars to kill a key witness.
Authorities in Tampa say an inmate who received the offer went to deputies with it. That led to another charge April 6 against Jadon Saunders-Rigueur.
Saunders-Rigueur, 19, was charged with first-degree murder with a robbery after an unnamed 16-year-old boy was shot in October 2021 during a reported drug deal.
WPEC-TV reports a new charge of solicitation to commit murder was added April 6.
“Rather than taking the time to reflect on his poor actions and feel remorse over his first offense, this man continues to choose a life of crime," Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister told WFLA-TV in a statement.
Saunders-Rigueur also is charged with third-degree murder, armed robbery and purchasing cannabis. He was held April 7 without bond.
