A North Carolina woman is behind bars after officials say they found a man and a cat dead inside the man’s home.
Deputies recently responded to a home in Greensboro and located the body of 59-year-old Todd Arnold. He had suffered multiple stab wounds to his torso and other unspecified injuries, according to the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office.
Arnold’s exact cause of death will be determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
During the investigation, authorities said they also found a deceased cat inside the residence. Police did not say how the cat died.
Investigators identified 38-year-old Lauren Fullerton as the primary suspect in the case. According to prosecutors, she called 911 four times on May 30, the day deputies discovered Arnold dead.
Fullerton allegedly told deputies about fentanyl use, and she allegedly admitted to stabbing somebody to death after a disagreement, the sheriff's office claimed.
Law enforcement officials said Fullerton also admitted to killing the victim’s cat.
Fullerton reportedly told deputies that Arnold and his cat had been dead for a couple days.
