Pennsylvania Convicted Sex Offender Raped, Strangled Great-Grandmother While She Was Out For Walk: Prosecutors
A convicted sex offender in western Pennsylvania is accused of raping and murdering a great-grandmother while she was out for a walk.
Prosecutors announced the arrest of David Bosely, 59, Thursday for homicide, rape, kidnappings, aggravated indecent assault and abuse of a corpse.
Marcy Nellis, 76, went for a walk on a trail near her Oil City home March 27. After she was reported missing, her body was found the next day near a university campus.
According to Fox News, an autopsy concluded Nellis was strangled and raped.
Prosecutors say a rape kit and shoe impressions led authorities to Bosely. WJET-TV adds DNA profiling was involved as well.
But Bosely reportedly denies even touching Nellis.
Bosely has been in the Pennsylvania sex offender registry since 2000, when he was convicted of attempted rape.
Bosely is being held without bond until a court hearing scheduled for April 19.
