Victim Shot And Killed At Motel Near Army Base, Police Nab Alleged Shooter
A man was shot and killed at a North Carolina motel, and police said they have arrested the shooter months later.
On Aug. 11, Erick Anderson was shot and killed at a Motel 6 in Fayetteville, North Carolina, according to Fayetteville police. The motel is near the U.S. Army base, Fort Bragg.
Police spent months investigating and on April 21, announced they arrested Donald Edward Payne Jr., 38, in connection to the shooting.
Investigators have not said how they identified him as a suspect or a possible motive in the shooting.
He was arrested at an apartment in Fayetteville and charged with first-degree murder, police said.
Payne is being held in a North Carolina jail without bond.
