Alabama Man In Custody On Murder, Attempted Murder Charge Now Accused Of Separate Second Slaying: Cops
An Alabama man already in custody in connection to a recent murder and attempted murder is now accused of a second slaying that occurred last month, authorities said.
Birmingham police said officers arrested Dmarcco Montez Harris, 26, on May 1 and charged him with murdering 25-year-old Roderick Mariachi Williams Jr. and attempting to kill another man two days earlier following a fight.
According to WBRC, police said Harris allegedly spoke about the shooting incident in a video posted on social media.
Officials have announced they believe the suspect, who was being held on a $2 million bond at the Jefferson County jail, may also be responsible for the shooting death of Urian Woods, 40, on April 25, WIAT reported.
Woods was discovered with a gunshot wound in Marconi Park and rushed to an area hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Harris’ bond was increased to $2.2 million.
The murder investigations are ongoing.
