Murder Suspect Wanted In Texas Arrested In Wisconsin After Six Months On The Lam, Police Say
A second suspect wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of a man in Texas is now in custody after authorities located and took him into custody in Wisconsin.
Deputies in Rhinelander, Wisconsin, arrested Israel Perez, 31, in connection with the slaying of Baldemar Flores, also 31, early last year in Houston, KWTX reported.
The Houston Police Department said the victim was gunned down in the parking lot of a hotel around 9:50 p.m. on Feb. 5, 2021.
After further investigation, police identified Perez and 31-year-old Josie Torres as suspects in the case and issued warrants for their arrests.
Officers apprehended Torres six months later, on Aug. 16, 2021, and charged her with murder.
Perez is expected to be extradited from Wisconsin to Harris County, where he faces a murder charge as well as counts of aggravated robbery, felony evading arrest and possession of a controlled substance in separate incidents, Houston police said.
