Feb. 10 2024, Published 12:04 p.m. ET
A South Carolina man is behind bars after police say he allegedly kidnapped and attacked a woman in a motel room before she was able to escape without any clothes on and seek help.
In September 2023, the victim and suspect, Brandon Marshall, met at a gathering and decided to go someplace private, WJBF reported.
The pair checked into a motel in Aiken and Marshall allegedly started using cocaine and was unable to perform sexually, officials said.
As the evening continued, Marshall became more and more hostile, the victim claimed to police.
Marshall allegedly threw the woman's phone against the wall, pinned her against the wall, punched her in the face and then strangled her, police said.
At one point, the victim said she was able to get away from Marshall, grab her purse and head toward the door.

However, authorities say Marshall snatched her purse away as she was fleeing the motel room.
Once outside, the victim reportedly started knocking on other doors trying to find help before she ended up in the motel lobby, where employees phoned police.

Officers arrived at the motel and searched the room, where they reportedly found Marshall’s debit card, what appeared to be cocaine on the nightstand, blood on the door frame and the victim’s purse, which was covered in blood, according to law enforcement authorities..
Marshall recently was arrested and charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and kidnapping, officials said.
He was booked into the Aiken County jail.
