Two Teens Planned To Rob A Man, When Police Arrived They Found The Victim Dead In A Running Car: Report
Two teens are accused of killing a man during a robbery, police said.
Last week, police arrested the teen in connection to the shooting death of Denzel Hammond, 23, on March 30, according to Metro Nashville police. The suspects were identified as Suhaela Lemelle, 16, and Draven Hughes, 17.
Both were charged with criminal homicide.
Authorities responded to an apartment complex on Bell Road for the shooting. Officers found Hammond in the driver’s seat of the car, which was still in gear, according to police.
Hammond was pronounced dead at the scene.
Lemelle was present and identified as an acquaintance, police said. Investigators determined Lemelle and Hughes were handling pistols earlier in the night and discussed robbing the victim. Officers then found two guns at Lemelle’s apartment.
