A 3-week-old baby died and now a man faces murder and child abuse charges, police said.
On Dec. 6, police in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, arrested Tommy Lee Montez, 23, in connection to the case. He was charged with second-degree murder and felony child abuse with serious bodily injury.
He is currently being held in jail without bond.
On Nov. 20, police responded to a hospital for a reported child death. The baby was identified as Julius Saucedo, police said.
However, investigators have released few details in the case, such as a motive or how they believed the child was injured.
The relationship between the newborn and Montez is unclear, but they both lived at the same address.
