5-Month-Old Baby Dead From Abuse, Dad Arrested On Murder Charge, Cops Say

A man is accused of abuse that led to his baby’s death, but few details have been released in the case.

Around 11:30 a.m. on April 12, police in Kinston, North Carolina, responded to a hospital for a report of abuse. The victim was a 5-month-old baby.

According to Kinston police, the infant suffered multiple injuries to his body, but authorities did not provide further details. Investigators have also not said how the abuse occurred.

Investigators identified the child’s father, Ricardo Kadin Battle, as a suspect and he was arrested the next day on a charge of felony child abuse.

On April 14, the 5-month-old child died. The charges were then increased to second-degree murder.
