Months after a dead body was found along a road in North Carolina, police said an arrest has been made in connection to the murder.
Around 9 a.m. on Sept. 24, police responded to a call of a dead man, later identified as 28-year-old Jamel Ramel Haskins, being found on the side of the road in Graham, North Carolina, according to authorities.
Officials said Haskins had gang affiliations in Durham County and the location of his death appears to be an isolated incident. He had no known ties to the neighborhood where they found his body, FOX 8 reported.
Authorities said Haskins was shot between 8:30 a.m. and 9 a.m.
After months since the body was found, 26-year-old Chris Emmanuael Wiggins was arrested in Wake County, North Carolina, on Feb. 4 in connection to the death of Haskins.
Wiggins faces several charges, which includes, first-degree murder, second-degree kidnapping, possession of a firearm by a felon and robbery with a dangerous weapon, officials said.
The case is still under investigation, so anyone with information is asked to contact the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office at (336) 570-3600 to speak with a member of the Criminal Investigations Division.
