FedEx Driver Accused Of Stealing A Child's Tortoise From Home's Front Porch

A FedEx driver in North Carolina is accused of stealing a tortoise from a turtle, police said.

This week, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office in North Carolina announced this week the arrest of Jineice Constance Grant. She was charged with felony larceny.

Police said the alleged theft happened as Grant worked as a delivery driver for FedEx.

She is accused of taking a 5-year-old Brazilian Red Food Tortoise from the front porch of a home, deputies said. The animal belonged to a child.

Authorities did not say when the incident happened. They also didn’t say what happened to the tortoise.

But police said they “delivered her priority” to a Lee County magistrate for a hearing.
