Grandson arrested for knifing his 81-year-old grandfather during fight, cops say
A dispute between a grandson and his grandfather nearly turned deadly when the younger man allegedly stabbed his elderly relative.
According to Greenville police, Aaron Rashad Brown, 23, and his grandfather, 81-year-old Wheeler James Brown, got into a fight at a residence on the evening of Aug. 20.
Police did not detail what led to the fight.
During the altercation, police said, Aaron Brown stabbing, and police were called to the scene, where the suspect allegedly was at first thought to have barricaded himself in a room, WNCT-TV reported.
He was later located a short distance away and taken into custody. The grandfather was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition.
The stabbing suspect faces an attempted second-degree murder charge and is being held in the Pitt County Detention Center on $1 million bond, online records show.
