Man opens fire, killing one and injuring others. One of the victims was a toddler, police say.

A North Carolina man opened fire on a car, killing one and injuring two more people, police said. One of the victims was a toddler.
Around 11 p.m. Sept. 19, police said they responded to a Family Dollar in Wilson, North Carolina, after a call came in referencing two adults and a child suffering from gunshot wounds in a vehicle.
When police arrived, they found 24-year-old Raekwon Shonte Rodgers and 26-year-old Kiara Janay Faison with gunshot wounds.
A 3-year-old child was also in the vehicle suffering from a minor graze. The toddler was treated at Wilson Medical Center, WNCT reported. Both Faison and Rodgers were taken to Vidant Medical Center, according to authorities.
Investigators said the shooting happened at another location in Wilson, but the vehicle ended up in the Family Dollar parking lot.
On Sept. 20, officials from Vidant Medical Center said Faison was treated and released for her injuries, but Rodgers had died from his wounds.
Police determined Christopher Dale Pender Jr., 28, was the suspect, as he was arrested. Police charged him with two counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle, one count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflcting serious injury and one count of first-degree murder.
He is currently being held with no bond, WNCT reported.
