North Carolina woman fails to show up at work. Her son is now accused of first-degree murder.
A North Carolina man murdered his mother at their home and then fled, authorities said.
On Aug. 30, Cabarrus County Sheriff's deputies went to the Concord home of Robin Fink, 58, for a wellness check after she failed to show up for work and was not answering phone calls. Responding officers discovered Fink dead.
A short time later, authorities received a phone call from a resident in the area reporting an unknown man was at their door, who then left and entered some nearby woods.

Police immediately established a perimeter of the area and a K-9 track located the man, later identified as the murder victim’s son, Paul Forest Kabusk, 24.
WBTV reported detectives determined Kabusk was allegedly responsible for his mother’s death and took him into custody on a first-degree murder charge.
Kabusk was being held at the Cabarrus County Detention Center without bond.
