A North Carolina woman feared her brother was going to injure their stepfather and now police say the suspect followed through on the concern.
Around 6 p.m. on Dec. 3, police said a woman called 911 saying she was afraid her brother was going to harm their stepfather.
Police arrived at the residence, where they found 23-year-old Ryan Tambis at the door, according to authorities.
Officials said they noticed blood on Tambis’ hands while they were talking to him. They also saw a man lying on the floor suffering from a stab wound, WECT reported.
First responders took 78-year-old Raymond Hill to the New Hanover Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, officials said.
Police said Tambis was arrested and was booked into the New Hanover Detention Facility with no bond. He was charged with first-degree murder.
Investigators have not said what led to the alleged attack.
