A man went to a person’s home and strangled a victim to death, but police admit they are still trying to figure out what led to the confrontation.
Around 11:15 p.m. on June 16, the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home in Graham, North Carolina, for a report of cardiac arrest.
Deputies arrived and found a victim, and tried to provide first aid until paramedics arrived, according to the sheriff’s office.
The victim — Michael Thomas Hickox — was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witness said Robert Daniel Terry came to the home asking for Hickox, according to the sheriff’s office. Terry then began assaulting the victim and strangling him.
The two had an earlier confrontation at the gas station, but police said what prompted the encounter remains under investigation, according to the sheriff’s office.
Terry was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and felony absconder. He is being held in jail without bond.
