Man faces nearly 400 criminal charges for alleged rape of family members: cops
A North Carolina man faces nearly 400 charges after the alleged rape of family members, police said.
On Feb. 7, police in Statesville, North Carolina, were notified about sex acts that happened between William Ray Clark, 52, and family members.
Police said the sex acts happened during a three-year period.
Investigators gathered various evidence, witness statements and comments from the victims during the investigation, according to Statesville police.
This week officers arrested Clark and he was denied bond for being a danger to the public, according to Statesville police. Officers charged Clark with:
- 74 counts of first-degree statutory rape
- 78 counts of incest
- 78 counts of indecent liberties
- 74 counts of sex act by a substitute parent
- 76 counts of statutory sex offense with a child by an adult
Some of the charges carry a maximum penalty of life in prison.
