Shooting In North Carolina Leaves Woman Dead, Suspect Facing Murder Charges
A shooting in North Carolina left one person dead and one person facing murder charges, police said.
Last week, police announced the arrest of Jonathan Casey Rashad Burgess in connection to the incident. He was charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder and firing into an occupied vehicle.
He is currently being held in a North Carolina jail without bond.
Around 10 a.m. on May 7, police in Wilmington, North Carolina, responded to a shots fired. When officers arrived, they found two victims with gunshot wounds.
Alexandra Faith Gillikin, 25, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. Nicholas Raspino, 30, was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Police have not said what led to the shooting or how the suspect knew the victims.
