A month after a woman was shot dead at a Charlotte apartment complex, police say they have arrested a suspect.
Around 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 23, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police responded to an apartment complex for a welfare check. When officers arrived, they found a woman shot to death.
The victim was identified as Ahylea Willard, police said.
Days after the killing, police asked for help finding a suspected vehicle in the case. A month later, police arrested Tyquawon Parker on various warrants, including one for murder in connection to the case.
He was also charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and firearm by a felon. Parker was arrested in Guilford County, North Carolina.
It is unclear if Parker knew Willard before the shooting.
