Man Who Police Say Impersonated 85-Year-Old To Steal More Than $50,000 Arrested: Report

A Nebraska man who police say impersonated an 85-year-old man and stole more than $50,000 from him was arrested, according to a report.
KETV reported that Paul Sheldon, 61, of Lincoln, is charged with theft by deception and senior adult abuse.
Police say they received a fraud report stating that a person's father, who was 85 at the time but is now deceased, was missing $50,000, according to KETV.
Police found through an investigation that Sheldon, a family member of the man, had been impersonating him on the phone while talking to a bank. He then directed deposits into several bank accounts on 18 occasions, KETV reported.
The total amount of losses was $50,300.
