A 20-year-old man killed a 72-year-old man in Nebraska last week, though officials are mum on what led to the alleged murder.
The Nebraska State Patrol and Chadron Police Department arrested Ian Littlemoon on July 23 in connection to the murder. Authorities had asked for the public's help to find Littlemoon, also known as Sage Littlemoon, who they thought might be driving a stolen, blue Ford Freestar minivan.
Dawes County Attorney Vance Haug said Littlemoon was charged with first-degree murder and felony use of a deadly weapon in connection to the death of 72-year-old John Martinez, according to the Associated Press.
Chadron Police Chief Rick Hickstein said officers were notified of gunshots at a Chadron, Nebraska, home, found Martinez dead on the scene, and began a statewide manhunt for Littlemoon.
Police have not released what led to the shooting or the relationship between Littlemoon and the victim.
Nebraska State Police said they found the allegedly stolen van was found abandoned on July 23. Littlemoon was reportedly located in Pine Ridge, Nebraska, and taken into custody by officers with the Oglala Sioux Tribe Department of Public Safety, according to Nebraska TV News.
The homicide investigation is in the early stages and officials said additional information would be released when possible.
