A GameStop employee was found with multiple wounds at a store in Nebraska and now police say a 25-year-old man is accused of stabbing and robbing the employee.
Around 1 p.m. on Feb. 15, officers responded to the GameStop in Bellevue, Nebraska, after a call reporting a robbery, the Bellevue Police Department said.
At the scene, police said they found an employee suffering from multiple stab wounds.
The employee stated a man came into the store, assaulted him and then stole money from the register, according to authorities. First responders took the employee to the University of Nebraska Medical Center, officials said.
After an investigation, police determined the suspect was 25-year-old Calvin Wakefield.
He was found near a residence in Bellevue, but Wakefield tried to run from police, officials said. A detective tackled Wakefield and he was taken into custody without further incident.
Wakefield was booked into Sarpy County Jail and charged with robbery, second-degree assault and the use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony, authorities said.
The investigation is still ongoing, so anyone with information regarding the case is asked to call the Bellevue Police Department at (402) 293-3100.
