The victim told police that a male broke down his back door and entered the house. The victim fled the residence through the front door and ran to a neighbor’s house, where he called 911.

Officials checked out surveillance footage from the residence, which showed a man wearing a blue jacket, black sweatpants and a gray shirt wrapped around his face. The suspect forced his way into the home by shattering the rear sliding glass door, authorities said.

Officers arrived at the scene and set a perimeter around the house. Richmond Police K9, Ca$h, and his handler arrived at the scene and unsuccessfully attempted to track the suspect.

The victim advised police that approximately $30,000 of cash and property were stolen.
