Explosive device detonated in New Jersey, police say they nabbed the suspect in a traffic stop
A bomb was detonated in New Jersey town and now a 47-year-old man faces charges in connection to the case.
On Oct. 16, police in Hamilton, New Jersey, responded after reports of numerous loud explosions in the Groveville area.
Around 6:30 p.m., Hamilton police stopped a vehicle drive by Brandon B. Meshofski after he denoted an explosive device in the area, according to Hamilton police. The vehicle stopped was a short distance from the explosion site.
Police arrested Meshofski and the bomb squad rendered the area safe.
Investigators from the FBI and the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Officer helped in the investigation.
Meshofski faces several counts of second-degree possession of an explosive device and second-degree possession of a destructive device. He is being held in Mercer County jail and awaiting his arraignment.
