Suspect Said He Stabbed In Self-Defense. Police Say The Victim Had More than 15 Wounds.
A man tried to claim that he stabbed a person to death in self-defense. But police say it was murder.
On April 13, police in Albuquerque, New Mexico, responded to an apartment complex for a fight.
William Nofsinger, 60, said he stabbed another person in self-defense, according to Albuquerque police.
But detectives said his claims did not match the evidence. The victim had a large, deep cut to his throat. He also had about 15 puncture wounds to his body, authorities said.
The victim’s name has not been released pending family notification. Police have not said what led to the fight.
Officers charged Nofsinger with an open count of murder. He is being held in the Metropolitan Detention Center.
