Two People Shot In New Orleans — One Fatally — And Police Say They Arrested A Suspect
A man has been arrested in connection to a New Orleans shooting that left one person dead and another person hurt, police said.
Around 7 p.m. on April 19, a New Orleans police officer responding to an incident heard hearing shots along A.P. Tureaud Avenue and instead went to that location.
When police arrived, they found two men, both with gunshot wounds, according to New Orleans police. The victims were taken to the hospital, where one of them died. Officials have not released the names of the victims.
Montreal Baham was detained at the scene and police determined he was the shooter, according to authorities. They have not released a motive in the case.
Officials charged Baham with second-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, felon in possession of a firearm and possession of stolen property.
