Man charged with murder of girlfriend’s 7-month-old son in New York, prosecutors say

A man has been arrested after he allegedly caused the death of his girlfriend’s 7-month-old child in New York, prosecutors announced.
Nasir Jackson, 20, was arraigned on Dec. 12 on one count of second-degree murder, according to the Erie County District Attorney's Office.
Jackson is accused of recklessly endangering in conduct that caused the death of his girlfriend’s 7-month-old son while the child was under his care.
The infant was unresponsive when he was taken to the Kenmore Mercy Hospital, where he died on Dec. 10, according to the district attorney's office. Prosecutors did not detail the baby's injuries when announcing the arrest.
The name of the victim has not been released.
Jackson is scheduled to return to court on Dec. 16 for a felony hearing, and he was remanded without bail, prosecutors noted.
If convicted, Jackson faces a maximum of life in prison.
