Man Arrested In NYC Days After Mother Of Four Found Dead In Massachusetts, Officials Say
A man accused of recently killing a Massachusetts woman was apprehended in New York City, officials announced.
Victor Carter, 39, was taken into custody on Dec. 17 on a warrant for the murder of Amber Buckner, the Norfolk District Attorney's Office said, WBZ-TV reported.
Buckner, a 40-year-old mother of four, was found dead in an outbuilding behind a home in Stoughton, Massachusetts, on Dec. 13. "Carter had a relationship history with Buckner," Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey said.
Buckner's family claimed to WCVB the victim battled addiction issues and had lived at the house for several years but her children were in state custody.
According to Morrissey, “It was obvious to officers at the time that the person had suffered some significant injuries.”
Carter was being held in New York but he was expected to be extradited to Massachusetts,
“We extend our particular gratitude to the Port Authority Police for their help and assistance in their jurisdiction,” Morrissey said of the murder suspect’s arrest.
