New York man found covered in blood after stabbing both his parents to death, police say

A man was found covered in blood by police after stabbing his parents to death, authorities in New York said.

Around noon Oct. 18., New York State Police were dispatched to a home in the 5900 block of Old Oneida Road in Rome, New York for a welfare check of a person who was standing at the edge of his driveway and appeared to be covered in blood.

When troopers arrived, they located Kyle J. Kirk, 30, who lived at the residence, with blood on his clothing, according to State Police

As troopers and EMS were interviewing Kirk, they found a man lying across the driveway suffering from apparent stab wounds.

The victim was identified as Howard J. Kirk III, 60, who resides at the residence in a trailer located in the rear of the property. Howard Kirk III was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police also found Amanda L. Osborne, 53, who also resides at the residence, deceased from apparent multiple stab wounds.

Kyle Kirk has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon. Police have not released an alleged motive for the stabbing.
