Indiana Man Arrested In Connection With 9-Month-Old Newborn Daughter’s Death
A father in Indiana is accused of killing his newborn baby after investigators deemed the child’s fatal injuries suspicious.
On Sept. 15, authorities placed Devin Morrison, 26, under arrest in connection with the death of his daughter, Naiarii Kaczmarek, in Mount Vernon. He faces a felony charge of neglect of a dependent resulting in death and was being held at the Posey County jail, the Courier & Press reported.
A week earlier, on Sept. 8, authorities opened an investigation after emergency responders received a 911 call about the unresponsive 9-month-old baby.
Indiana State Police spokesman Sgt. Todd Ringle said detectives determined the little girl’s injuries were “suspicious” after noting “signs of trauma.”
Kaczmarek was rushed to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The coroner ruled the girl’s manner of death a homicide caused bya subdural hemorrhage due to multiple skull fractures.
