The child, later identified as Legend Lambert, was transported to the hospital with a traumatic brain bleed and other injuries, court documents obtained by WTOL show.

The Toledo police were contacted by Lucas County Children Services and an investigation was opened.

Authorities recently arrested the boy’s father, 24-year-old Lawrence Lambert, and charged him with endangering children and felonious assault.

Lambert allegedly told police that he kicked the boy in the head because he was frustrated.

On March 13, officials announced that the infant was taken off life support and he died.

An autopsy was conducted by the Lucas County Coroner’s Office, which showed Legend sustained non-accidental blunt force injuries to the head, and found severe cerebral edema, a subdural hemorrhage and a subarachnoid hemorrhage.

On March 14, a grand jury indicted Lawrence Lambert, who was already in custody from his previous arrest, after his son’s death and he was charged with aggravated murder, two charges of murder, one charge of endangering children, and one charge of felonious assault.
