A child was brought to a New Hampshire hospital with a suspicious leg injury and now police say the victim's father has been arrested and charged with assault.
On Jan. 16, officers received a call from a New Hampshire hospital stating they had a child in their care with a suspicious injury, the Nashua Police Department said.
An investigation began, which detectives learned the child’s father, 20-year-old Manuel Guerrero, was the one who caused a fracture to one of the child’s legs, officials said.
Investigators did not detail how the father allegedly caused the injuries.
The child has since been transferred to a Boston area hospital for more specialized care, police said.
Because of the investigation, Guerrero was arrested and charged with first-degree assault, authorities said.
The investigation is still ongoing and anyone with further information is asked to call the Nashua Police Department Crime Line at (603) 589-1665.
