Department of Corrections Employee In Illinois Accused Of Fatally Shooting Man Outside Nightclub
A corrections employee in Illinois was arrested on a first-degree murder charge after he fatally shot a man outside a nightclub, officials said.
Around 1 a.m. on April 23, Alan J. Kattina, 25, of Northbrook, got into a dispute at Miraj Nightclub in Niles with an acquaintance, 22-year-old Mark Asber, WMAQ-TV reported.
Kattina, who worked at the Cook County Department of Corrections, was in the parking lot when he allegedly shot Asber, who was pronounced dead at an area hospital, according to officials.
Kattina was arrested at the scene, officials said.
“It hurts so bad,” a neighbor of the victim, Guillermo Oquendo, told WMAQ-TV. “As a person he was very kind. I knew him since he was a little boy."
