A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection to the fatal shooting at a New Jersey apartment complex.
On Jan. 16, police from Maple Shade, New Jersey, were called to an apartment for a reported shooting. When officers arrived, they found Ezekiel Sanders Jr., 32, in the road with gunshot wounds, according to the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office.
He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The suspect sped away in a vehicle after the shooting, prosecutors said.
An autopsy determined that the victim was shot in the arms and chest. But police have not released a motive in the shooting.
Months later, on June 28, prosecutors announced they arrested Teon Macklin-Goodwin in connection to the case. He was charged with first-degree murder, first-degree robbery, second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and second-degree certain person not to have a weapon.
He is being held in jail pending a detention hearing.
