3-Month-Old Dies After Multiple Assaults, Cops Say. Educational Counselor Accused Of Murder.
A woman in New Jersey is accused of assaulting an infant multiple times and causing the child’s death, officials announced.
Last week, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office announced the arrest of Sun Min Grace Yoo Chan on charges of murder, aggravated assault and child endangerment. She worked as an educational counselor, prosecutors said.
On March 29, police in River Edge, New Jersey, responded to a 911 call about an infant not breathing. When they arrived, they found a 3-month-old boy unresponsive. The child was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead a few days later.
Investigators say Chan assaulted the infant on multiple occasions and caused the death.
Prosecutors did not specify the relationship between Chan and the victim or the extent of the assault.
Chan is being held in a New Jersey jail.
