‘This Was Not A Random Act’: Authorities Accuse Pennsylvania Woman Of Killing Victim In Her New Jersey Home
A suspect from Pennsylvania was taken into custody and accused of the fatal shooting a woman in a New Jersey residence.
On Sept. 22, authorities arrested Elizabeth Jackson, 61, at her home in Yeadon, Pennsylvania, and charged her with first-degree murder as well as weapons offenses in connection with the death of Deborah Brown-Hepworth, the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office said.
Shortly after 11 a.m. on Sept. 17, officers in Old Bridge, New Jersey, responded to 65-year-old Brown-Hepworth’s home after receiving a 911 call and found her dead from a gunshot wound.
“This was not a random act of violence” and “Jackson knew the victim,” the prosecutor’s office said.
Police have not released further details about the case.
The investigation is ongoing and law enforcement asks anyone with information about the shooting or surveillance footage of the area to call Detective Spinola of the Old Bridge Police Department at (732) 721-5600 X 3181 or Detective Morris of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office at (732) 745-3927.
