Victim beaten to death in bike shop with a hammer, police said. Warehouse worker accused of murder.
A suspect beat a 43-year-old person to death with a hammer at a high-end bike distribution shop, officials said.
Around 8:15 a.m. on Oct. 27, Northvale police responded to a Jamis Bikes facility for a report of an injured person, according to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office. When officers arrived, they found Jeanette A. Willem dead.
Investigators identified Christian V. Giron, 24, as the suspect and prosecutors said he killed Willem with a hammer.
Prosecutors did not say what led police to identify Giron as a suspect or the possible motive for the killing.
Officials said Giron was a warehouse worker.
Police arrested Giron on Oct. 27 and charged him with first-degree murder, third-degree possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, third-degree hindering his own apprehension by concealing evidence and fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.
He is being held in Bergen County jail.
